Who dunnit?

Think about the book we are reading for read-aloud, The Great Shelby Holmes by Elizabeth Eulber.  After interviewing the Lacy family, Shelby is making a list of possible suspects based on all the evidence that she has gathered.  Here is a list of the people she suspects took Tamra's dog, Daisy:

  • Mrs. Lacy
  • Zareen
  • Zane
  • Mr. Emerson
Who do you think took Daisy?  Why?  Support your claim with text evidence from the book!  Use complete sentences and correct grammar.

    It's most definitely Mr. Emerson. He was lying when Shelby talked to him about why he wasn't in touch with the Lacy family. So, maybe he stole daisy to enter and train her better to compete for HIM. At first I thought that Zareen stole the dog but she wasn't as guilty as Mr. Emerson…

    I think that it was Mr.Emerson he lied about not being there he was really at the beach.

    It was sooo Mr. Emerson because he lied about going to the beach and Roxie doesn't bark around him.

    It was Mr. Emerson. When he talked to Shelby he would stop after a few seconds and try to make an exscuse. Also Roxy was so silent around him it wouldn't seem like he was there. He also might be Mr. Wiggles owner. So he would want to keep Mr. Wiggles in first place.

    I think it was Mr.Emerson because he lied to Shelby about going to visit his "sick aunt" but was really at the beach. I think he is Mr.wiggles owner and he wants to keep Mr.wiggles in first place. He TOTALLY could have taken daisy because Roxy was not barking at him at all when he was holding her. Roxy acted like Mr.Emerson was her owner. At first I thought it was Zareen but she keeps saying she didn't do it and got in a fight with her sister Tamara. So suspicious.......

    I think it was Mr. Emerson because when Shelby stole his phone she looked over photos and saw that he was at the beach. But, his excuse was to be with his sick aunt so that is why I think he was guilty because his clothes were raggedy, and it takes a lot of money to go to Hawaii or Mexico. Also, Mr. Emerson had a suntan and a black coral necklace which you could only get in a warm place.

    I think that mr.Emerson took Daisy because he was acting really suspicious for example he was lying and Selby took his phone and looked through his photos

    I think it was Zane because he was defending Zareen. Also Roxy wouldn't bark at him because Roxy knew Zane. It wasn't Mr. Emerson because he liked the dog. Also he was on a trip but that doesn't mean it was him.

    Mr. Emerson or Zereen.Mr. Emerson because he lied and Roxie doesn't bark and Zereen because she is jelous of Tamera because of Daisy and Roxie dosent bark.

    Mr. Emerson so took daisy because he lied and he could of sold daisy so he got money. I'ts pretty obvious because Shelby found out that he was in Mexico instead of visiting his sick ant. Roxie doesn't bark at him. Who else could it be?

    I am positive it is Mr. Emerson. because he lied to them that he was going to see a sick ant, but instead he went to the beach with some women. Also he could've stole Daisy because Rosy didn't bark at him one bit.
