Today we started reading A Handful of Stars by Cynthia Lord. In the first chapter, we learned a bit about one of the characters Salma Santiago. In chapter two, we learned a little more about Lilly, the main character. What did we find out about Lilly?

Lilly has a dog named Lucky. Her dog is blind. She meets Salma When Lucky runs away and eats Salma's lunch. She lives with her Grandparents.

ReplyDeleteLilly was named Lilly because her mother saw some flowers outside the hospital. Lucky her blind dog,runs away and Salma stops Lucky with a bag of chips and a sandwich.

Lucky is blind and Lilly met Salma when Lucky got loose and ran to the blueberry field where Salma was working. Salma gave up her lunch to be kind and catch Lucky, and Lilly said she was sorry and gave Salma a pie.

When Lucky ran away Lilly followed but she couldn't keep up. So a girl named Salma drew Lucky close to her by the rustling of her chips bag. Then she gave Lucky her lunch so he would stay.
